Charbagh Railway Station

The Charbagh Railway Station is the main railway station of Lucknow, situated in the south of the city. Charbagh Railway Station was built in 1914 and incorporates the nest of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The word 'Charbagh' means four gardens; it is said that four gardens were here at the time of Nawabs.

                The Charbagh Railway Station (Hindi: चारबाग़ रेलवे स्टेशन, Urdu: چارباغ ریلوے سٹیشن) is the main railway station of Lucknow, situated in the south of the city. Its station code is LKO. Charbagh Railway Station was built in 1914 and incorporates the nest of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. The word 'Charbagh' means four gardens; it is said that four gardens were here at the time of Nawabs.. It serves as main station for both Northern railways and North Eastern railways. It has two different stations. It is a divisional headquarter of Northern Railway and also of NER and the most important rail hub in North India. Trains from here connect the city to New Delhi and prominent state capitals of India like Bhopal, Patna, Jaipur, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jammu etc. Lucknow NR is also the main hub for the Lucknow-Kanpur Suburban Railway System (MEMU).
